Art & Creativity Workshop
An opportunity to have fun, make new friends and learn more about yourself. In a group of no more than 10 adults, you'll be supported to use watercolour to unlock your inner child and create freely. No experience is necessary, you don't need to be able to draw or paint. Come with an open mind and a willingness to listen and learn from each other. It can be hard as adults to be open, to relax and express ourselves without having specific purpose or structure. Life is often very serious and the burdens we carry are heavy. This is your time to put those burdens down and enjoy the freedom it gives. This Workshop has proven to be insightful, fun and liberating by those who have experienced it. The feedback included 'it was hard at times to let go and not think to much, but when I pushed the thoughts away, I really lost myself in the painting and enjoyed myself' 'thank you, I learnt so much and really enjoyed the freestyle section' Over the past four years I have found arts and crafts to be my saviour from overwhelm and burnout. As a Neurodivergent, with Generalised Anxiety Disorder and Fibromyalgia I can get very overwhelmed, stressed, tired, and upset. I have learnt to mask, and regulate myself in public but sometimes the feeling is too strong and I struggle to remain what I believe is expected in society. As an over-thinker, who is always being told to not overthink (impossible) I worry about what others think and say. The first time I attended a life-drawing art class I was told that we would be sharing our pictures with the group and discussing them. I was nearly sick on the spot due to fear of rejection. (RSD - Rejection, Sensitivity Dysphoria) Luckily, I had an amazing teacher and a wonderful supportive group and it was actually okay. You will be absolutely fine too! I will create a safe environment for everyone to be treated with care, compassion and support whilst ensuring we have fun too. There won't be any criticism or judgemental comments/feedback. We will look and react with curiosity and kindness. Opening our minds to possibilities. In addition to watercolour we will explore crafts and you will have an opportunity to create something out of household items which were destined for the waste. But instead they will get a new lease of life. If you would like to let go, have fun and learn about yourself then please book your space now as limited spaces available. Thank you. Emma x
